Yesterday we walked through the park to look for signs of spring (and found them!) and then visited the Cloisters Museum. We brought along paper and pencils so we could sketch at the museum.

Frederick used some birthday money to buy a cool sketchbook for himself. On the first page he drew a tree, doorway, and candlestick holder he saw in the museum.

Olivia drew some capitals - there are some pretty amazing carvings at the top of the columns at the museum.

I made a drawing, too. There weren't many plants growing in the gardens for me to draw this early in the season, but I drew a part of a potted plant inside the museum.

We had a nice time, got some drawing and history work done, and walked home in time for Frederick to go to judo class with Eric.
